Sherwin-Williams Enhanced Harmony® Paint Helps Promote Better Indoor Air Quality With Groundbreaking Technology

CLEVELAND – June 10, 2013 – Sherwin-Williams offers an enhanced Harmony® Interior Acrylic Latex Paint with innovations that help eliminate common odors and promote better indoor air quality by reducing airborne concentrations of formaldehyde and other aldehydes. Once the paint has dried, Harmony’s new Formaldehyde Reducing Technology helps reduce the levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from potential sources like insulation, carpet, cabinets, fabrics and other building materials.

“Combined with Harmony Paint’s Odor Eliminating Technology, which helps eliminate common indoor odors, this newest groundbreaking innovation takes the product to an advanced performance position, making it ideal for office environments, new construction, renovation projects and other locations where elevated airborne concentrations of formaldehyde may exist,” said Steve Revnew, vice president of product innovation, Sherwin-Williams.

In addition to its Odor Eliminating and Formaldehyde Reducing Technologies, Harmony Paint contains anti-microbial agents to resist mold and mildew formation on the paint surface — helping to extend the life of the paint. Harmony Paint also delivers great hide and a durable finish that can withstand frequent washings.

Like all Sherwin-Williams latex and water-based paints, Harmony is tinted with ColorCast Ecotoner® colorants that do not add VOCs to the tinted paint. Harmony Paint is a zero-VOC formula that meets the most stringent VOC regulations, and it is certified to GREENGUARD® standards for low chemical emissions into indoor air during product usage.
