How To Create That Smooth Fresco Finish

Smooth Fresco is a soft, earthy texture that exudes a warm rustic appeal. This casual technique is a great option for enhancing the appearance of a great room or dining room.

Video Transcription:

Two easy steps to a smooth fresco finish.

Begin by applying two coats of Duration Home Interior Latex matte paint in your basecoat color.

Use a brush to cut into corners and edge near the ceiling or around windows.

But while the paint is still wet, blend it into the body of the wall using a ⅜ inch nap mini roller.

This is an important technique to follow as brush marks will result in an unwanted picture frame effect around the edges of your wall when you're finished.

Cover the entire area and follow the paint label recoat directions before applying a second coat.

Then allow the wall to dry completely.

Once the paint is dry, mix Faux Impressions Latex Glaze with your glaze coat color of Duration Home Interior Latex Matte paint to create your glaze mixture.

Use a stir stick to evenly spread a small amount of the glaze mixture onto a moistened sponge mitt.

Then rub the glaze on the wall using a random circular action.

As your mitt dries out, you may go back over any areas to lighten the glaze coverage and reveal more of the basecoat color.

Continue working across the wall, repeating this process and blending areas as you go.

This completes your beautiful smooth fresco room.
