Topping-Off Ceremony at Sherwin-Williams New Global R&D Center Marks Major Milestone

Alongside our fantastic construction workers, we celebrated a ‘topping-off’ ceremony on July 26 with the placement of the final steel beam on our new Global Research and Development Center located in Brecksville, OH. This milestone marks the completion of the construction project’s structural work, a project that began with a groundbreaking ceremony in October of 2021. Ron Meinhart, Superintendant of Forest City Erectors – a female-owned firm providing project structural steel – thanked the crew for their work thus far.
The crowd, including construction crews from the project, enjoyed the Global R&D Center's Topping Off Ceremony.
Construction workers got to see the fruits of their labor as they witnessed the Global R&D Center's topping off.
The final beam placed at the Global R&D Center was adorned with signatures from Sherwin-Williams representatives, Building Our Future construction workers and other dignitaries.
Sherwin-Williams executives and elected government officials signed the final structural beam placed at the Global R&D Center.
After remarks from key leaders on the project, the structural beam was lifted into position using a crane.
