Frequently Asked Questions

We offer in-app purchases -- monthly and annual plans. Enter the app > Select Subscriptions.

Scan a color and select “Custom Color Match” at the top of your match results. You can take the QR code to your local Sherwin-Williams store, or you can save it to a folder to access later.

Yes! Select the Custom Color Match > select “Compare” > Select “As Color 1”. You can then scan in the sample as Color 2 or navigate back to your saved colors > select a saved color > select compare > tap “As Color 2”.

Select the Custom Color Match > add in a color name or any additional notes (not required) > select “Save” > Select the folder you want to save it to or select “New Folder” to create a new folder.

Make sure you are logged into the account used to purchase the subscription and that the subscription hasn’t expired. 

Return to the store where the match was made and ask them to remake or adjust the color. You can also review the tips and best practices in our guide to help ensure the most accurate results.

The subscription only works for SherMatch+ devices.

To power on, press the blue button located at the top of the device. To power off, press the blue button again.

If the top button appears stuck, try gently moving it from different angles to dislodge it. For additional help, contact support.

  1. Make sure your phone/tablet has a strong WiFi signal and Bluetooth is on.
  2. Restart the device (turn off, then press the blue button).
  3. Charge the SherMatch+ with the included USB-C cable
  4. Toggle your phone’s Bluetooth off and back on.
  5. Fully close and reopen the SherMatch+ app.
  6. Tap Connect Device, then select your serial number. The device will pulse white, then blue when connected.


If it still won’t connect:

  • Delete and reinstall the SherMatch+ app.
  • Restart your phone/tablet.
  • Try connecting again (see step 5).

If the device won’t turn on, please charge it with a USB-C cable and try another cable, charger, and outlet. Let it charge for 90 minutes. If the issue continues, contact support.

Charge the SherMatch+ with the included USB-C cable for about 90 minutes (use a wall outlet for best results). 

The SherMatch+ battery lasts about 12 months in standby and up to 1,000 scans per full charge.

If it doesn’t turn orange when plugged in, check the USB-C connection and try a different charger or outlet. Leave it plugged in for 90 minutes. If it still won’t charge, contact our support team.

In the SherMatch+ app, go to the "Menu" and select "Help With Your Device". Select your device model to learn more about troubleshooting.

A subscription is not required to use certain features of SherMatch+ (“free version”). Users of the free version acknowledge and agree that certain features are limited and Sherwin-Williams is not liable for any issues or losses incurred as a result of these limitations. Custom color and sheen match features require a third-party subscription. The third-party subscription is governed by these third-party Terms of Use and will automatically renew unless you cancel. Cancellation and refund requests and billing disputes are governed by the Terms of Use and should be directed to the third-party. Sherwin-Williams is not liable for any subscription refunds or subscription related disputes.
