Key Markets & Uses

The latest opportunity to expand your existing commercial painting projects is by offering intumescent fireproof coatings for structural steel. Generally applied to new construction/expansions of commercial and public buildings, you can apply this type of coating similar to a paint product, and the end result will give the appearance of a standard painted surface. Most intumescent fireproof coatings are single-component, waterbased products that you can apply using standard airless spray equipment.

Products/systems that use fireproof coating:

For exposed structural steel, single-component, waterbased products are often applied. These coatings are high in viscosity, similar to block filler, and can be applied using airless spray equipment. They are designed to go on at high-film thicknesses (e.g., 56 mils wft) and sometimes require multiple coats to achieve the specified film thickness.
