After you’ve pulled everything away from the wall and laid down a drop cloth, use twine or a thin string and thumbtacks to define a straight line to use as a guide. Follow the line with painter’s tape. Be sure to remove any outlet covers before you paint.

Start painting a 2-3" wide strip within the border of your geometric line and surrounding walls with a small angled paintbrush to create an edge.

Pour your paint in a tray and use the roller to apply the first coat. Use the roller to blend the wet painted edges so your brushed strip transitions perfectly with the rest of the wall.

Wait 4 hours, and then apply your second coat of paint.

Once the paint is dry to the touch, slowly pull off the tape at an angle, toward you.
If the paint has dried over the tape, carefully use a razor blade to break the bond between the tape and the paint.
