  1. 1

Once you've laid down a drop cloth, use painter's tape to define the area you are painting.

For this project, we used one color for personal notes and one color for work notes. Not sure which colors to use? Let ColorSnap guide you to an awesome color choice.

  2. 2

Once primed, apply 2 thin coats of paint with an angle brush, allowing each coat to dry.

Depending on the current color of the surface, you may have to prime before you paint. Visit your local Sherwin-Williams store for expert advice and help selecting the best products for your project.

  3. 3

Prepare Sketch Pad® according to the instructions on the package.

  4. 4

Apply the mixed coating using the applicator that comes in the Sketch Pad® kit. Although 1 coat is all that is required, should a second coat be desired, apply it within 1 and 7 days of the first coat—before the product fully cures. The product appears white when wet, but dries clear.

  5. 5

Wait 7 days before writing on your new Sketch Pad® surface with any common dry erase marker.

  6. 6

Clean up: Always clean your brushes for future use. Learn how to properly store and dispose of paint here.
