I chose Aloe as Sherwin-Williams 2013 Color of the Year for many reasons.

It has a fresh, optimistic, fun and somewhat of a flirty quality to it as well.

It has a vintage and retro spirit that's resonating with us in the 21st century.

We're seeing this color emerging at all the great home furnishing shows around the world, but we're really seeing it trending this spring and summer in women's fashion.

I love this color because it has such amazing potential.

I can see pairing it with blacks and whites teamed with this really modern edge and if you add a little bit of Chartreuse to it, it makes it fun and funky.

I also love pairing this color with driftwood grays and natural materials like linen and burlap.

Tarnished metals make it so comfortable.

This colors gender neutral as well so it's great for nurseries.

If you add a little bit of lavender and periwinkle to it, it gives it a wonderful feminine quality that I just think is beautiful.

And if you want to kick it up a notch, add some saturated corals with it and it'll give you this great island vibe.

Anyway you use Aloe it's going to create the perfect environment just for you.
