Comprehensive Line of Durable Coatings Increases Efficiency in Industrial and Commercial Applications
Sherwin-Williams Expands Pro Industrial™ High Performance Coatings Line
CLEVELAND (February 18, 2008) ― In high-maintenance, high-traffic areas where dirt and moisture are unavoidable, coatings that offer washability, chemical resistance and a hard, impact-resistant finish are crucial. Formulated especially for these areas, Sherwin-Williams offers its Pro Industrial products, the most comprehensive line of high-performance coatings for health care, hospitality, educational, commercial and industrial applications, and anywhere high traffic is prevalent.
The recently expanded Pro Industrial line includes a variety of primers and topcoats including waterborne acrylics, alkyds and high-performance epoxies. These coatings are low VOC, easy to apply and offer the durability required to meet the aesthetic and maintenance needs of commercial and industrial buildings.
"Our commitment to product innovation has led to the introduction of the Pro Industrial line," said Steve Revnew, director of marketing, product development for Sherwin-Williams. "We are offering a complete line of products for durability and increased efficiency in commercial and light-industrial settings."
Pro-Cyrl® Universal Primer
For areas prone to rust and corrosion, Pro-Cryl Universal Primer is essential. The self cross-linking alkyd primer protects bare steel, aluminum and galvanized substrates and can be used under most water- and solvent-based topcoats. The low-VOC, low-odor primer dries quickly and can be applied in temperatures as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Pro-Cryl Universal Primer is available in off-white, gray and red oxide colors.
0 VOC Acrylic
Pro Industrial 0 VOC Acrylic delivers a durable finish while meeting all environmental standards. The zero-VOC coating can be applied in occupied spaces without the concern of disruptive odors within the space. The single-component package does not need to be mixed or measured, which saves valuable time at the job site and results in a long-lasting finish with early moisture resistance. Pro Industrial 0 VOC Acrylic is available in a gloss or semi-gloss finish.
Industrial Enamel 100
With all the durability of standard industrial enamel, Industrial Enamel 100 boasts twice the coverage per gallon and provides greater flexibility than other alkyds. This Pro Industrial coating is specially engineered to be abrasion-, chip- and flake-resistant, making it ideal for interior and exterior use on commercial buildings and industrial sites.
Its low-VOC, low-odor formulation retains color and gloss longer and is suitable for coating handrails, doors, frames, machinery and equipment found in schools, hospitals and hotels. Industrial Enamel 100 is available in a wide range of colors including safety red, safety yellow and black package colors.
Multi-Surface Acrylic
Pro Industrial Multi-Surface Acrylic offers high hide, excellent stain-blocking properties and can be applied to a variety of substrates, eliminating the need for multiple paint products. It delivers an alkyd-like hardness in a waterborne acrylic and retains its color and gloss even when applied to marginally cleaned surfaces.
High Performance Epoxy
High Performance Epoxy maintains a high-gloss finish in areas where a chemical- and abrasion-resistant epoxy is required. This Pro Industrial coating is a low-VOC, low-odor all-purpose product, so contractors and facility managers can use one product for all their needs. The two-component epoxy is appropriate for various substrates and achieves high film build in one coat, eliminating the need for multiple coats and added labor.
Hi-Bild Waterbased Catalyzed Epoxy
Pro Industrial Hi-Bild Waterbased Catalyzed Epoxy is formulated especially for the maintenance needs of institutional and commercial facilities. Tough yet versatile, it can be applied to primed steel, masonry, concrete, plaster, drywall and wood, and maintains its finish even when exposed to high traffic. Like other products in the Pro Industrial line, this commercial-grade waterbased epoxy has a low-VOC, low-odor formula, so it can be applied safely on both interior and exterior surfaces.
In addition, it replaces a traditional two-coat system with the ease and efficiency of one-coat application, saving time and money. Hi-Bild Waterbased Catalyzed Epoxy delivers a long-lasting finish with the smooth look of traditional latex, and resists moisture and yellowing even in damp environments. It is available in high-luster or low-luster finishes.
Precatalyzed Waterbased Epoxy
For facilities such as hospitals, schools and restaurants — where repeated cleanings are a crucial part of every day — Pro Industrial Precatalyzed Waterbased Epoxy is designed to endure washings and chemicals that would typically affect the visible wear of the finish over time. It also has excellent hide and coverage to minimize the number of coats needed.
This epoxy does not need to be mixed or measured in the field and can be applied with ease. It requires minimal cleanup time and has no limited pot life. Precatalyzed Waterbased Epoxy is available in eg-shell and semi-gloss.
