Video Transcription:

Hi, I'm Bohdan Gernaga and I'm an interior designer and I specialize in color.

The clients that I work with are from residential to commercial and a lot of them actually come to me to create an environment with color because a lot of times they want color but they don't know how to go about putting it together.

The way I present color to clients or my clientele is actually quite unique because I never discuss color with them at all and it's really interesting because a lot of the clients look at me and they go, “Well, you're here for color.”

And I'm like, “We will talk about it later, let's get to know you, how you are, what you want within the space.”

People think that colors need to be appropriate to the time period in the way that that time period approaches color.

That's not always necessary because you also have to take into consideration the people that are in there, the function, the activities and the time period.

Though a lot of the colors that I have are appropriate to the history of this house and this time period, they're just tweaked a little.

Being a huge proponent of green, anything that I do, whether it's paint, design, I always make sure that it's as green as possible.

Color is entirely part of my life.

I dream it. I live it.

I surround myself with it.

I try to energize people with it.

That's why the passion is in interior design specializing in color.

To me it's a piece of cake because that's part of who I am and all my passions that I have also encourage color.

I'm a painter and what I – Since I’m into recyclable materials and sustainable materials, a lot of the paint chip samples that I use for my clients the ones that get discarded, I reuse them as backgrounds of a lot of my paintings and these particular pieces are called color blocks.

And I put the paint chip samples on, and I paint over them, and then I glaze them and that's my work.

So color in my life.
